Can we disagree and be still be peacemakers?

The recent same sex marriage debate brought out not just disagreement between Christians and non-Christians, but also between Christians themselves. It has been a very polarising issue! Can we be peacemakers even when we strongly disagree with each other? What do we do when we see our opponents’ position as being bad for society or even unfaithful to the gospel?
