upcoming training - everyday peacemaking for schools 30th april

We all struggle with conflict and challenging relationships – it’s a part of life. And this is certainly true within schools!

Come to this training to…

  • learn a simple framework for understanding and dealing with conflict
  • gain powerful peacemaking principles and relational tools
  • understand the biblical foundations of peace and reconciliation
  • discover gracious ways to deal with difficult people (eg. think tough conversations with parents, colleagues and more)
  • have time to reflect upon your personal experience of conflict and peacemaking
  • consider the connection between biblical peacemaking principles and the vision and values of your school
  • learn how you can begin supporting and building a positive and relational culture in your school
  • discover opportunities to glorify God, serve others and grow to be like Christ, even in the midst of conflict

Extra: During the day, you will also have the opportunity to see a short presentation on PeaceWiseKids and PeaceWiseYouth – which is new online curriculum material being developed to teach children to become peacemakers for life.

This training is PeaceWise’s full first day of training, specifically targeted for the school context. But the principles you learn will be of value for ALL parts of your life!

Formal description: The Everyday Peacemaking course seeks to provide a Christian framework for understanding and dealing with conflict. Training includes peacemaking principles and tools for teachers and other school leaders to support a positive and relational culture within the school context, leading to improved student and teacher wellbeing by enhancing social and emotional learning (SEL). Improving SEL results impact cognitive and non-cognitive competencies as well as providing key psychological resources required to thrive. Participation in collegial discussion will enable participants to reflect upon their own school practices.

Credit: Completion contributes 6 hours of NESA Registered PD towards maintaining Proficient Teacher Accreditation in NSW.
