Peacemaking in Melbourne
On the 18th and 19th of May PeaceWise held the first National Training courses for 2018 in Melbourne.
The Everyday Peacemaking course focused on understanding and dealing with conflict. There was teaching on the biblical foundations for peace and reconciliation as well as a time to reflect on personal experiences with conflict and peacemaking. Most importantly this training was able to provide new insights into conflict, with many receiving revelation of how conflict can actually be an opportunity to glorify and honour God.
The Heart of Peacemaking course had a deeper focus. Already having foundational knowledge gained from the Everyday Peacemaking course, participants were able to explore the role of the human heart in more serious conflicts while becoming equipped to respond to challenging people and situations. The training allowed those attending to delve deeper into the principles of confession and forgiveness and provided new insights into the drivers behind our responses to conflict.
Both days were a great success. Many participants commented on how refreshing it was to gain a godly perspective on conflict, how they learnt more about themselves and how they understood how conflict could actually be an opportunity to demonstrate God’s love.
“It was excellent to sit under such teaching from godly, living and passionate hearts.”Â
“ I really appreciate the gospel focus of this framework of reconciliation”
Thank you to all those who came along to the Melbourne training. We are so honoured to be able to serve you!
We also want to extend a big thank you to Paul Manning and Clarissa Wilson who presented this training. Both presenters did a fantastic job. We really appreciate all your efforts, skills and the time you put in to making the day a success.
