Hear from our National Director, Bruce Burgess as he shares with Hope103.2 presenter Ben McEachen around the incident that unfolded between Chris Rock and Will Smith at the 2022 Oscars.

Bruce suggests that rather than simply judging Will Smith or Chris Rock for what they did and said, there are lessons in what happened for us all. This covers both our own “worst moments” as well as the difference between intent and impact in what we say to others.

Note also that after this interview was recorded, Will Smith did issue a public apology to Chris Rock for what he had done.
