free webinar – biblical peacemaking in Chinese culture
In this webinar
Conflict is inevitable. Some would say it is prevalent in our culture today and it happens in our churches too. What is the future of the Chinese-Immigrant church’s involvement in the Great Commission if we do not know how to avoid the consequences of unresolved conflict?
In this 40min live webinar recorded on Thursday 27 June 2024, missionary, author and peacemaking specialist, Jolene Kinser, discussed with PeaceWise CEO, Wayne Forward, the issue of “face” in Chinese culture (saving face, losing face, giving face…) and how face issues present some of the biggest barriers to resolving conflicts and reconciling with others.
Jolene offers a new biblical perspective on face that can break down some of the barriers people have to proactively addressing conflict. She draws on some of the stories featured in her book “Changing Normal: break through barriers to pursing peace in relationships“, of people who have pushed through cultural barriers and begun living according to God’s reconciling kingdom culture.
